Moto G2 launch on Sept 4 : Moto X successor and Moto 360 smartwatch

Moto G2 launch on Sept 4 :

Moto X successor and Moto 360 smartwatch

The successor of Moto G and Moto X, Moto G2 and X+1 respectively, and their smart watch Moto 360 will probably be released tomorrow, September 4, at a press event in Chicago, USA while Motorola will also have a press event in India to release the phone. While the IFA trade show which kicks off in Berlin on September 5. Motorola sent out invitations for the Press event which had the letters G and printed on the drawing of a phone, possibly hinting at the successors of G and X successors. Motorola’s much awaited smart watch, Moto 360 will also be launched .
Moto G2 is rumored to have a Snapdragon 400 processor and 5 inch screen. Moto G2 will sport an 8 MP rear-facing camera unit with LED flash in addition to a 2 MP secondary cam. Motorola Moto G2 will also be a dual SIM phone, just like its predecessor. It will probably have a price tag of approximately Rs 13,000.
A surprising thing is that Motorola is facing tough competition from the likes of Xiaomi and Asus who are offering phones with similar specifications at half the price and offering phones with twice as better specifications at the same price. Xiaomi had released Mi 3 in August for the same price but with twice as good specs while Redmi 1S was released yesterday at half the reported price of Moto G2. Will it affect the sales of the Moto G2? It is difficult to say.
Another update to Motorola’s old phones is the successor to X. The phone is rumored to have Android 4.4 KitKat, a 5.2-inch full-HD display with  a resolution of 1080×1920, a 2.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with an Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It is reported to have 16GB of built-in storage and there is no news on its expandable memory. It will have a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera.
A much-awaited addition to Motorola’s catalogue is its new smartwatch Moto 360. There have been many previews of it from Motorola themselves but it has not yet been released in the market. That, though, might change tomorrow. Moto 360 looks different when compared to the Galaxy Gear from Samsung and Sony Smart watch with a circular touch screen frame and a very classy look.
With Samsung launching its new phablet Galaxy Note 4 on September 3 and Apple probably releasing its new iPhone 6 expect this to be very busy week for gadget lovers. Xiaomi has already launched it phone Redmi 1S. Now the wait is on for Motorola to release its own. Knowing Motorola in recent years, expect a few surprises.
